Work Activity: Clean and protect in Kinross
Our client as part of a bigger job cleaning and protecting their terracotta tiled kitchen floor asked us to look at the tiles at the entrance the their property. We cleaned the tiles and grout using a rotary machine in conjunction with a wet vac. The floors were then neutralised and throughly dried with a whole room dryer. In order to protect the tiles we advised the client not to use a stone sealer, as this would stop the floors from breathing and off gassing any raising moisture. Due to the age of the property and the likelihood of moisture rising from the questionable substrate we recommend a floor wax that would allow the floor to breath while protecting, it also gave the client the option of topping up the wax in future years as part of an ongoing maintenance package The photos speak for themselves
