If you have pulled up carpets to reveal floorboards that are cupped in places, have some damage and have a horrible thick dark lacquer on them, can they be restored?
The answer is invariably Yes If you want to prepare old floor boards for painting you may want to call Citrus Floorcare We can do basic repairs including: board replacement, filling and removing the toffee like varnish around the margins of the room, remove any crowning or cupping by diagonally cutting and flattening the floor, remove and disguise fire place hearths, leaving the floors ready for painting.
Can stiletto heal marks be removed from wooden floors?
The answer to the question is invariably yes, as can be seen from the attached photos. However, there are some provisos to this, in the photos the floor has been sanded with 24 grit pads to remove the existing finish however in order to remove the stiletto heal marks we had to recut the floor taking off about 2 millimetres in total. You therefore need to have that amount of wood available to cut away, on solid hard wood floors this is not usually a problem, but you can run into problems with engineered boards especially if they have been sanded before. This can all be assessed at the initial survey and the options can be talked through |
